APPROACHES

Integrated, Individual Coaching

Architect Your Identity.

Our impact across the multiple spheres of life runs in direct parallel to the quality of our self-knowledge.

We can change what we do; without ever understanding why. But, not understanding why makes change unlikely to last, and puts a ceiling on progression.

Lasting change takes place beyond behaviour, beyond skills, beyond communication style - at the level of Identity.

Understand why we do what we do, and we have conviction. Decide with clarity. Build relationships that don't depend on status.

Focusing on presenting behaviours (how we behave), rather than the root cause (why we behave) will never illuminate Identity Blind-Spots.

Fixing the symptoms will never fix the real cause, the issue remains.

Coaching a client to improve their presence ignores the facts that presence and body language are presenting behaviours that reflect a root cause - confidence.

Working at Identity level however, we discovered and explored the underpinning cause impacting confidence, and understood why it became an Identity Blind-Spot. Coaching was then centred on increasing confidence and presence in their truest forms.

Psychology. Experience sitting in the chair. Life across 3 continents. All in service of one conviction - that the most powerful thing we can become is fully, precisely, unapologetically ourselves.

‘The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, the world will tell you.’

— Carl Jung

Integrated Approaches

I work with the whole person, not just the presenting challenge.

Some sessions follow a longer arc, others go where the moment demands - all enable progress.

A set of integrated, proven frameworks - rigorous, diverse, and selected as they enable work where change lasts and transformation accelerates - underpin my coaching approach.

Possible Selves & Identity Narrative

No-one Else Holds the Pen

Our identity as a leader is authored, not fixed. Possible Selves theory reveals the gap between who we are now and who we are becoming: the leader we aspire to be, and the ones we quietly fear becoming. Identity Narrative offers tools to examine the stories governing our leadership - and to deliberately author new ones, rather than inherit the next chapter by default.

Together, these frameworks form the foundation for the other coaching approaches.

The Enneagram

Human Character Mapped

Through discovering our unconscious motivations and deeply rooted influences, the Enneagram explains why we behave in the way that we do. It enables understanding of the patterns beneath our decisions - our strengths, weaknesses and potentials - and maps how to leverage them to our advantage across all spheres of life. Unlike other assessments, the Enneagram explains how we relate to each other - giving insight that improves 1:1 dynamics and team cohesion.

Jungian Psychology

Individuation: the Work of Integration

Carl Jung's concept of Individuation is the process of becoming who you genuinely are - not who the role demands, not who the organisation rewards, but the fully integrated person beneath both.

Real transformation is enabled when leaders understand the patterns, the contradictions, and the complexities they carry - not by focusing solely on strengths - and gain insight to lead from all, not despite it.

Systems & People Leadership

The Power of Systems and Rationality

Leadership has never been a solo act. The Māori principle of whānau - those who share purpose and journey together - shapes how I think about leadership in relation to systems. All leaders exist within an architecture of relationships, structures, and cultures that both influence and are influenced by us. Who you are affects everyone. How you show up - consistently, coherently, and with self-knowledge - determines what becomes possible.
